Lotus is a spiraling limestone sculpture by Mihama Yoshinao.

Yoshinao is a Graduate of Fine Arts University Tokyo with graduate work at Brera Academy in Milano, Italy.  He has earned many prizes in group exhibitions in Japan. Yoshinao has had numerous one man shows in Sogo Gallery, Osaka, Hinoki Gallery, Tokyo and the Central Gallery of Tokyo.

Mihama Yoshinao

Mihama Yoshinao will be working in limestone during the International Sculpture Symposium.

Mihama participated in his first show in 1964. It was the Graduation show at the fine Art University of Tokyo.

Since that time he has twice won the prize of the Niki Group Exhibition in Tokyo. He participated in the Group 44 Exhibition in Milan six times. In 1973, Mihama completed studies at the Brera Academy in Milan. His one-man shows include the Sogo Gallery, Osaka, Japan in 1974; the Hinoki Gallery, Tokoyo , Japan in 1975 and the Tokyo Central Gallery in 1976.

The Symposium will be attended by approximately twenty-five sculptors from eight countries. The sculptors will stay with local families during the Symposium from October 11 until November 30.
